Complaints & Warnings

A mild complaint
To make a mild complaint you can:

.Unfortunately, ….
Unfortunately, we have not yet received the goods.

Making a point
If you want the receiver to take note of something you can use phases such as:

.I should like to draw your attention to ( the fact that)…
I should like to draw your attention to the fact that we haven’t received your overdue payment for two months.

.I should like to point out that…
I should like to point out that you have broken our Terms of Sales.

If you are saying something that they already known ( and you feel a little bit angry)
You can use:

.I should like to remind you that…
I should like to remind you that the payment should be made in two days after delivery date.

.I hope that it is not necessary to remind you that…
I hope that it is not necessary to remind you that you should start your work at 8:30.

Warning
If you need to warn somebody in a letter, you may use:

.Unless…, we will be forced to ….
Unless you deliver the goods within 7 days, we will be forced to cancel the order.

.If…(not)…, we will be forced to …
If you don’t pay the bill within 10 days, we will be forced to take legal actions.
