All bosses hope that they can hire a right person for each position in their companies. They expect their employees to be able to offer innovative strategies and expand marketing. Bosses even hope that their employees can create new benefits for their companies and maintain competitiveness. If you were a boss, what kind of employees would you want? What qualities would an ideal employee have? In my views, an ideal employee would need to have a number of qualities as follows. First, an ideal employee would have a high EQ. No matter how tough the work is or how unfair the treatment is, they could accept it with rationality. They would take the interest of the whole company into account and would not let their bad mood affect their work performances. Second, an ideal employee would be loyal to a company. They would dedicate themselves to their company to increase the development of the business and create corporate benefits. They would never forget the goals and missions that their boss has expected them to achieve. Even though their boss might have economic crises or difficult problems, they would not leave them alone. They would overcome the harsh times with their boss and comp up with solutions together. Third, an ideal employee would be willing to learn new skills and knowledge all the time. They could realize the principle “survival of the fittest” and force themselves to take advanced training courses to improve their performance. If they kept learning constantly, they would not fear that they could not get a salary raise or a promotion because they continue to make progress. Last, they would know when to work hard and when to relax. They should do some good activities in their free time to relieve their pressure and refresh themselves, for instance, doing exercises or playing sports. Because these activities can increase the flow of blood to the brain, they would think more clearly and improve their work efficiency. Those who could make a lot of profit for a company are always valued. Therefore, it is essential for an employee to have the qualities mentioned above. Among these four qualities, however, I think that having a high EQ is the most important. If an employee is skilled in work but does not have a high EQ, he or she probably cannot make a right decision or get along with others well, which may negatively impact on the companies. Thus, the first thing that every employee should learn is to learn how to control their moods and emotions. |
