詩(Poetry)
To be, or not to be, that is the question--------- |
Whether ‘tis nobler in the mind to suffer |
The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune, |
Or to take arms against a sea of trouble, |
And by opposing end them. To die, to sleep-------- |
No more; and, by a sleep to say we end |
The heart-ache and the thousand natural shocks |
That flesh is heir to; ‘tis a consummation |
Devoutly to be wished. To die, to sleep--------- |
To sleep, perchance to dream, ay there’s the rub, |
For in that sleep of death what dreams may come, |
When we have shuffled off this mortal coil, |
Must give us pause; there’s the respect |
That makes calamity of so long life. |
Hamlet (One Shakespeare Play) |
1. Sonnet#130 (William Shakespeare) |
My mistress' eyes are nothing like the sun; |
Coral is far more red than her lips' red: |
If snow be white, why then her breasts are dun; |
If hairs be wires, black wires grow on her head. |
I have seen roses damasked, red and white, |
But no such roses see I in her cheeks, |
And in some perfumes is there more delight |
Than in the breath that from my mistress reeks. |
I love to hear her speak, yet well I know |
That music hath a far more pleasing sound. |
I grant I never saw a goddess go, |
My mistress when she walks treads on the ground. |
And yet, by heav'n, I think my love as rare |
As any she belied with false compare. |

Old Friends (P Simon, 1968) |
Old friends, |
Old friends |
Sat on their park bench |
Like bookends. |
A newspaper blown through the grass |
Falls on the round toes |
On the high shoes of the old friends. |
Winter companions, Old friends, |
The old men lost in their overcoats, |
Waiting for the sunset. |
The sounds of the city, |
Sifting through the trees, |
Settle like dust |
On the shoulders |
Of the old friends. |
Can you imagine us |
Years from today, |
Sharing a park bench quietly? |
How terribly strange to be seventy. |
Old friends, memory brushes the same years. |
Silently sharing the same fear.... |
