詩(Poetry)
| To be, or not to be, that is the question--------- |
| Whether ‘tis nobler in the mind to suffer |
| The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune, |
| Or to take arms against a sea of trouble, |
| And by opposing end them. To die, to sleep-------- |
| No more; and, by a sleep to say we end |
| The heart-ache and the thousand natural shocks |
| That flesh is heir to; ‘tis a consummation |
| Devoutly to be wished. To die, to sleep--------- |
| To sleep, perchance to dream, ay there’s the rub, |
| For in that sleep of death what dreams may come, |
| When we have shuffled off this mortal coil, |
| Must give us pause; there’s the respect |
| That makes calamity of so long life. |
| Hamlet (One Shakespeare Play) |
|
1. Sonnet#130 (William Shakespeare) |
| My mistress' eyes are nothing like the sun; |
| Coral is far more red than her lips' red: |
| If snow be white, why then her breasts are dun; |
| If hairs be wires, black wires grow on her head. |
| I have seen roses damasked, red and white, |
| But no such roses see I in her cheeks, |
| And in some perfumes is there more delight |
| Than in the breath that from my mistress reeks. |
| I love to hear her speak, yet well I know |
| That music hath a far more pleasing sound. |
| I grant I never saw a goddess go, |
| My mistress when she walks treads on the ground. |
| And yet, by heav'n, I think my love as rare |
| As any she belied with false compare. |

| Old Friends (P Simon, 1968) |
| Old friends, |
| Old friends |
| Sat on their park bench |
| Like bookends. |
| A newspaper blown through the grass |
| Falls on the round toes |
| On the high shoes of the old friends. |
| Winter companions, Old friends, |
| The old men lost in their overcoats, |
| Waiting for the sunset. |
| The sounds of the city, |
| Sifting through the trees, |
| Settle like dust |
| On the shoulders |
| Of the old friends. |
| Can you imagine us |
| Years from today, |
| Sharing a park bench quietly? |
| How terribly strange to be seventy. |
| Old friends, memory brushes the same years. |
| Silently sharing the same fear.... |
